Here is a painting by J.C. Schmitz Westerholdt depicting the sinking of HMS Hood (in the background) beside HMS Prince of Wales (Foreground) during the Battle of Denmark Strait, 24th May 1941.

Operation Rheniubung (Rhine Exercise) was a planned sortie by the German Kriegsmarine battleship Bismarck and heavy cruiser Prinz Eugen to enter the Atlantic Ocean and interdict allied naval convoys shipping supplies to the British Homeland.
This led to a brief naval engagement between the two sides when the German fleet was intercepted by the British Royal Navy battleship HMS Prince of Wales and battle cruiser HMS Hood, resulting in the sinking of the Hood alongside 1415 of its crew. Only 3 survived.
J.C. Schmitz Westerholdt, a combat artist and propaganda command officer on the Prinz Eugen, records the battle in his artwork shown above.
